Natural eyelashes can retain small amounts of oil, skincare residue, makeup, cleanser residue, and other surface impurities even after the eye area appears clean. These residues may interfere with how evenly lash adhesive contacts the natural lash.

Using a dedicated lash primer helps remove remaining surface buildup and prepares the lashes for the next stage of the application.

The primer is applied in a small, controlled amount using a suitable micro applicator. Once the lashes are prepared and the primer has dried completely, the lash artist can proceed with the compatible adhesive and lash application.

Step 1 – Prepare the Client

Position the client comfortably according to the professional lash procedure.

Ask the client to keep the eyes fully closed throughout application when working close to the lash line.

Make sure the eye area is comfortable and free from active irritation.

Step 2 – Remove Makeup

Remove mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, concealer, makeup remover residue, and other cosmetics from around the lashes.

Pay particular attention to the lash roots.

Do not proceed over visibly dirty lashes.

Step 3 – Clean the Lash Area

Clean the natural eyelashes thoroughly using an appropriate eye-area or lash-cleansing method suitable for the intended professional service.

Remove the cleanser properly.

Allow the area to become appropriately dry.

Step 4 – Prepare a Clean Applicator

Use a suitable clean micro applicator or other professional disposable applicator intended for lash preparation.

Do not apply excessive product.

A controlled amount is preferable.

Step 5 – Apply the Primer
